I ain't reading all that: I went to Europe in the summer of 2026! I backpacked through the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, and then settled down in Athens, Greece, for a month-long study abroad program.
A Global Perspective
Science is an international endeavor, and understanding different cultures is crucial for future global collaborations. To broaden my perspective before jumping into heavy upper-division coursework, I completed an extensive European experience in the summer of 2026.
The European Tour
Before my formal studies began, I embarked on a multi-country tour. I navigated the logistics of traveling through the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. This independent travel was a test of planning and adaptability, giving me a chance to experience the history and infrastructure of these distinct nations firsthand.
Academic Immersion in Athens
The cornerstone of the summer was my study abroad program in Athens, Greece, which ran from June 23 to July 25, 2026. Studying in the birthplace of Western philosophy and early mathematics was a profound experience. I immersed myself in the local culture, connected with international peers, and completed coursework in Italian I and Introduction to Sociology.
